Department of Chemistry
HOD's Desk
Welcome to the department of Chemistry. Where students learn about organic compound synthesis and how they affect our everyday life. The BSc Chemistry Programme offers exciting opportunities to dwell into the world of drugs. The three year specialization allows students to gain practical knowledge in diverse areas like medical, drugs and industrial etc. Chemistry specialization provides a deep understanding of various organic compound synthesis. We believe that after completing the degree, students will become proficient chemist who can handle lab safely and can work professionally in academia or industry.
The Chemistry department started in 1st August 1990 and specialization third year was initiated in June 1992, Rightnow 7 faculty members are working in the deparment. The department is blessed with a well-designed Chemistry laboratory. The laboratory is well-equipped with instruments, glass wears and chemicals. Though the department has the Departmental library and the college has central library who provides ample reference books for the courses. Department of Chemistry organizes various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to make the students compatible in the ever changing job market.
Most of the alumni of the department of Chemistry holds prestigious positions like IFS Mr. Kuldeep Kumbhar, Research Scientist Dr. Rajendra Patil (DRDO) and Research Scientist Dr. Santosh Patil (NCL-Pune) etc.
